SUMMARY: The City was awarded Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Loan No. 01-65101-002
for a Seismic Upgrade to the Casad Dam Intake Tower, the loan amount is $1,020,000, and is the
source of funding for the Casad Dam Intake Tower Upgrades project. Sealed bids for construction of
the project titled "Casad Dam Intake Tower Upgrades" were opened on May 27, 2003. The engineer's
estimate for the project is $370,000. Ten bids were received for this project. DBM Contractors, Inc.,
was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder with a bid of $244,070.75 (including sales tax).

FISCAL IMPACTS (include Budgeted Amount): The project is funded by a $1,020,000 DWSRF
loan and is included in the 2003 budget.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: MOTION NO. 1 - I move to accept Drinking Water State Revolving
Loan No. 01-65101-002, in the amount of $1,020,000.
MOTION NO. 2 - I move to award a contract in the amount of $244,070.75 with DBM Contractors,
Inc., for construction of the project titled "Casad Dam Intake Tower Upgrades" and authorize the
Mayor to execute the necessary contact documents for construction.
