SUMMARY: The new Government Center will be complete in September 2004. Each owner will be
resonsible for their own interior space planning and design. Two design finns were interviewed to
provide programming, space planning, interior design and preparation ofconstruetiondocuments. It
is recommended that the city hire Zimmer-Gunsul-Frasca Partnership, a Seattle architect and design
firm. In addition to numerous corporate clients, ZGF Partnership has a variety of experience
designing space for municipal governments.
ATTACliMENTS: Professional Services Contract.
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amoum): $40,000.00. Tenant Improvemem funding is
included in the Government Center Bond Issue at about $30.00 a sfuseable space which equates to
approximately $500,000.00.
