SUMMARY: The City is unable to realize all available grant funding for development of the West
650 Zone Projects. The attached resolution requests that the US Department of Commerce, Economic
Development Administration (EDA) terminate Grant Award No. 07-01-03791 on September 8, 2003,
for the convenience of the City and the EDA. If this action is not approved, grant termination will
occur automatically by default on the same date, resulting in loss of EDA funds in excess of $500,000
already received, and to be received, by the City.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Without passage, loss of $500,00 to $600,000 in
EDA grant funds from the West 650 Zone Projects, and loss of $385,000 in EDA grant funds already
expended on the Werner Rd./Kean Street storm drain project.
