SUMMARY:
On September 8th, the Kitsap Lake house became vacant again. We were interested in insuring that a City
employee occupy the house to help keep an eye on the adjoining park property. Following the City's policy for
the "Selection of Tenants - City Owned Residential Rental Property" (Financial Policy 1-20-06), the Finance
Department advertised the vacancy and took the names of interested City employees. On September 12t~,
~ ~'~nf iO~m;~a.~--.. ~{.Min -,q~rV~'3Department) name was drawn from
the ~5~ City employees who applied. /
Note: At the beginning of January, 2003, when the Kitsap Lake house became vacant, we contacted several
area realtor and rental management firms. One of the rental management representatives even visited the
house. In general, the rental rates for a similar rental unit in the area are between $700 and $850. As a result of
these inquiries, the monthly rental rate was raised by $125.00 to $700.00 a month.
