SUMMARY: The federal government will pay 50 percent of the costs when the Police Department
pumhases ballistic vests through September 30, 2007. The City received federal funds in the amount
of $19,103.96. Current costs for the vests are $755.00. Fifty vests could be purchased. Police on
duty are afforded protection through the use of safety and body armor.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Budget expenditures on vests over the next four
years will be reduced $19,103.96.
