SUMMARY: The COPS UHP 2003 grant allows the Police Department and City to hire one full-
time employee (sworn officer). The City receives one officer at 58 percent of an FTE's costs. The
City's cost share increases as the federal funding share decreases during the grant.
ATTACHMENTS: 2003 COPS UHP Grant Award Letter and Revised Budget Summary
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): $98,225.00 over three years. The fourth year
dollar amount is required to comply with the officer one-year retention plan. The officer's annual
salary is approximately $60K. The total City funding is $158,225.00 over four years. The budget
years are 2003-2006.
