4. SUMMARY STATEMENT AND REI)UIREMENT FOR COUNCIL ACTION:
The Department of Public Works and Utilities has negotiated an amendment to the Casad Dam Intake Tower
Seismic Upgrade Project Professional Services Agreement for design services with Acres International
Corporation. This amendment adds scope and budget for evaluation of alternatives braces, and replacement of the
tower gate operators and operating rods. The amendment adds $35,275 to the existing contract of $152,858, for a
revised contract amount not to exceed $188,133. There are sufficient funds within the DWSRF loan to fund this
amendment. The requested action before the City Council is approval of Amendment No. 1 to the Professional
Services Agreement with Acres International Corporation.
8. RECOMMENDATION:
Move to approve Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with Acres International Corporation
in an amount of $35,275, for a total contract amount not to exceed $188,133, and authorize the Mayor to execute
the same.

Budget: The Casad Dam Intake Tower Seismic Upgrade Project is funded by a Drinking Water State
Revolving Fund (DWSRF) loan and is included in the 2002 and 2003 Budget.
