4. SUMMARY STATEMENT AND REQUIREMENT FOR COUNCIL ACTION:
The Bremerton Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded an Urban Parks and Recreation Recovery
Grant (UPARR) that is sponsored by the U.S. National Park Services.
The grant provides funding for the replacement of the existing heating ventilation, and dehumidification system
for the Glenn Jarstad Aquatic Center. The grant pays for 70% of the project ($182,280) and requires the City to
match the remaining 30% ($78,120).
The Community Development Department recommends reallocating $78,120 from the Community Development
Block Grata Revolving loan program to satisfy the match. This is an eligible use of CDBG funds. CDBG funds
are the only federal funds that are allowed as match under the UPARR grant.
8. RECOMMENDATION:
1 move for approval of reallocating $78,120 from the Community Development Block Grant Revolving Loan
Program to satisfy the match for the UPARR grant
