4. SUMMARY STATEMENT AND REQUIREMENT FOR COUNCIL ACTION:
The City of Bremerton Police Department has a contract with the Bremerton Housing Authority to provide
police service for the Westpark housing development. The contract has been rewritten and updated to meet
BHA grant and community policing requirements. The conlxact identifies staffing levels, financial terms and
specific services. The contract is for two years.
5. RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve the service contract with the Bremerton Housing Authority to
support community policing in Westpark Housing and authorize the Mayor to execute same.

The City of Bremerton will not have a service contract supporting community policing with the Bremerton
Housing Authority for Westpark housing and the New Approach Anti-Drug FY2000 grant.

The Bremerton Police Department dedicates one Patrol officer to support the contract for two years. The BHA
funds the full-time officer and services according to the contract.
