4. SUMMARY STATEMENT AND REQUIREMENT FOR COUNCIL ACTION: The City applies for
and accepts the Washington Traffic Safety Commission Bremerton-Kitsap County Traffic Safety Task Force
Project funding grant of $60K. This grant establishes and serves as the primary funding source for the Traffic
Safety Coordinator's salary and wages. The City of Bremerton received an additional $5,750.00 following the
second session of the State Legislature. The WTSC authorized and stated that the additional funding could be
applied to salary and wages. The Department concurs with this guidance and because of the specialized duties
required of the Coordinator's position, Chief Forbes wants to apply the $5,750.00 to Shirley Wise's salary.
5. RECOMMENDATION: Approve accepting the additional funding, a budget adjustment and addendum to
the service contract that puts the $5,750.00 into the Coordinator's salary over the next two years.
