4. SUMMARY STATEMENT AND REQUIREMENT FOR COUNCIL ACTION:
Olsen & Olsen has been providing various legal services to Bremerton
since December 2000. Four tort actions have been resolved by this firm
and three others remain active. Additional expenditure authority will be
necessary to resolve those matters.
8. RECOMMENDATION:
Motion to approve the amendment to the professional services
agreement with Olsen & Olsen for an additional amount of $50,000 with a
total not-to-exceed contract amount of $99,950.

Funds for defense of tort actions can be found in the Risk Management
Fund and in the Legal Departments' budget. Budget adjustments may become
necessary.
