SUMMARY STATEMENT AND REQUIREMENT FOR COUNCIL ACTION: In January, 2001 the City identified two defects in the sanitary sewer system in the vicinity of the intersection of Cambrian Avenue and Farragut Street that require immediate repair. The cost to make the repairs is estimated to be $150,000. Constraints due to schedule, cost and access require that the work be performed by the SR 304 Contractor concurrent with his completion of the Gateway Phase of the SR 304 project. Approval of this increase to the Change Order Authorization allows the repairs to be made to the sanitary sewer system without impacting the remaining construction of the Gateway Phase of the SR 304 project. The requested action before the City Council is approval of an increase in the Change Order Authority of the Gateway Phase of the SR 304 Transportation Improvement Project from $250,000 to $400,000. 5. RECOMMENDATION: The City Council authorize the Mayor to execute change orders on the SR 304 Transportation Improvement Project, Gateway Phase contract to a limit of $400,000 for a total contract amount not to exceed $4,643,253.00. 9.
