On November 1, 2000, the Fire Department abated and vacated the building on the property
located at 2133 - 11th Street due to a broken sewer line inside the dwelling which had resulted in the
aeeumulation of sewage in the basement. The executrix of the estate of the owner, Ernestine Woodworth,
chose to have Public Works secure the building, and the cost of the action, including administrative fees,
totaled $1,991.20. Council must now decide if the fees are just and reasonable and how they should be
collected.
RECOMMENDATION:
I move that Council, by Resolution # ~'~ ~ ~-, order that the fees incurred for securing the
building located at 2133 - 11th Street in the amount of $1,991.20 be collected as reasonable abatement
costs and become a lien against the property.
