D~I~ ~lF;
I enclose herewith brie~ of title and other papers
sent me two days aSo. I would certainly advise that tt~e town
of Char~ ston procure an abstract of title to lots 1~ and 11,
brought down to date and I would certainly advise that this
abstract be OX~I]~I,[]d to ascertain v;hethor s~;.c~; abstract convey-
ed perfect title. The amount involved of course is small, but
the property is to be the to~'n's and it is tho duty of tho
council to se~: to it that the town h~s good and sufficient title
for the property may beco~,ne of som~ wlue some day, es?ecialiy
if it is contemplated theft ~ prov~,~ents bo placed thereon.
leu oaght to procure an abstract to date of the i~roperty and
have the sa~e ex~mined. (;f co~rse I could go to t:ort
add ~ke the a~bstract, but not being familiar with the records
there, and not being accustomed to such work, it would be more
profitable to the tov, n to have this done by the rcg~l~r
tor. T~e e~closed abstr~c~ cou~ be u:.: : so f~r ~,s it goes.
I would however mahe the com:~laint that the a~stract ~s not
full enough and ~gf~est that the abstracter ~nsert in ~notr~.~nt
No. 10, 11, 12, and 13 a description of the ?roi,erty. T~is
oug[~t to be done in every, instr~ment, i would not fe~l like
certifying to an a].stract where it is not. done. ~n abstract
should show every instrument and every essential feature of
each instrument. I suggest theft yes have this abstract so
made then forwarded to me for exa
