DIGITAL RECORDING CO UNCIL r 0..:.1 CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES I O 13 I ' Wednesday, September 19, 2018 The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Eric Younger presiding. Council Members present were Richard Huddy, Michael Goodnow, Tony Hillman, Kevin Gorman, and Leslie Daugs. Council Member Pat Sullivan was absent. Also present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Angela Woods; Legislative Assistant Lori Smith; and Hans Nilsson, Information Services. A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Leslie Daucis followed by the invocation provided by Pastor Sherwin Rulloda from Bremerton Church of the Nazarene. MAYOR'S REPORT Public Works & Utilities Director Chal Martin provided a briefing on the emergency repair currently taking place by Public Works and the Washington State Department of Transportation following a sink hole (10-feet wide, 20-feet long, and 6-feet deep) that was discovered on Burwell Street between High Street and Anoka Avenue. It is estimated to be repaired by tomorrow afternoon. PUBLIC RECOGNITION Eric Harrold encouraged the Council Members to attend the 20th Anniversary Benefit Dinner to be hosted by the Lord's Neighborhood Diner on Friday, October 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church where he hopes to engage with elected officials in a conversation on how the private sector can be more involved in working toward solving the homelessness problem without having to ask the City for money.
