DIGITAL RECORDING Comm <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />Wednesday, January 2, 2019' <br />The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, <br />January 2, 2019, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT <br />CENTER, 345 6t' Street, Bremerton, Washington, with 2018 Council President Eric Younger <br />presiding. Council Members present were Richard Huddy, Michael Goodnow, Tony Hillman, Kevin <br />Gorman, Leslie Daugs, and Pat Sullivan. Also present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk <br />Angela Woods; Legislative Office Manager Lori Smith; and Kevin Matthew, Information Services <br />Manager. <br />A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br />Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Pat Sullivan followed by the invocation <br />provided by Reverend Walt LeCouteur of the Kitsap Rescue Mission. <br />COUNCIL OFFICER ELECTIONS <br />President Younger opened nominations for 2019 Council President. <br />Leslie Dau s nominated Eric Youn er. <br />With no further nominations, President Younger called for a Vote: <br />Voted in Favor of Younger: Sullivan, Daugs, Gorman, Hillman, Goodnow, Younger <br />Voted Against Younger: Huddy <br />By a vote of 6 to 1, Eric Younger was elected to serve as 2019 Council President; and remained <br />seated as the Chair. He will also serve as Mayor Pro Tempore in absence of Mayor Greg Wheeler, <br />President Youn er then opened nominations for 2019 Council Vice President. <br />Michael Goodnow nominated Leslie Daugs. <br />Richard Huddy nominated Richard Huddy. <br />With no further nominations, President Younger called for a Vote. <br />Voted in Favor of Daugs: Sullivan, Daugs, Gorman, Hillman, Goodnow, Younger <br />Voted in Favor of Huddy: Huddy <br />By a vote of 6 to 1, Leslie Daugs was elected to serve as 2019 Council Vice -President. <br />MAYOR'S REPORT <br />• Kelly Bonomi, (Public Works) was recognized for her outstanding volunteer work with the <br />tornado relief efforts in Port Orchard and Michael Bishop (Fire Department) was recognized <br />for spearheading the Annual United Way Campaign which included tornado relief efforts; <br />• Will have a "State of the City" and list of 2019 Goals available soon; and <br />• Was excited to be a first-time grandfather to a baby girl born only two -hours ago. <br />PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br />Bill Broughton, Attorney, has worked with the owner of Brother Don's to meet the criteria of the <br />current City Ordinance, and therefore was disappointed to learn the owner was issued three <br />separate citations in violation of the noise decibel level. He was also disappointed to learn the City <br />Council has not done anything to appeal or amend the requirements listed in the current ordinance. <br />
