DIGITAL RECORDING <br />CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br />Monday, June 25, 2018 <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the Council <br />Conference Room of the NORM DiCKs GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, <br />Monday, June 25, 2018, at 5:00 PM, with Council President Eric Younger presiding. Council <br />Members present were Richard Huddy, Tony Hillman, Kevin Gorman, and Pat Sullivan. Council <br />Member Michael Goodnow and Leslie Daugs were absent. Lori Smith, Legislative Assistant, was <br />present to provide staff support. <br />President Younger emphasized that the Special Meeting is open to the public, but there will be no <br />opportunities for input or participation, and except for Item Al, no action is anticipated; and the <br />content of these items is subject to change. <br />A. GENERAL BUSINESS <br />1. APPOINTMENT OF ANGELA WOODS TO THE POSITION OF CITY CLERK• AND SET <br />THE SALARY AT BAND 13, RATE 2 ON THE CITY OF BREMERTON'S 2018 <br />MANAGEMENT & PROFESSIONAL SALARY PLAN: DeWayne Pitts, Financial Services <br />Director explained that Section 21 of the Bremerton City Charter requires confirmation by <br />Council of appointments of appointive officers including the City Clerk. <br />Per BMC 2.50.032 (a), City Council approval is required when setting a new employee's <br />initial salary at a rate which exceeds Rate 1; and it is proposed that Angela's salary be set <br />at Rate 2. <br />She was hired by the City of Fife as their Deputy City Clerk in January of 2016 and then <br />promoted to City Clerk in 2017. From June 2014 through December 2016 she worked for <br />Pierce Transit as their Assistant to the CEO/Deputy Clerk of the Board. From June 2006 <br />through May 2014 she worked for the City of Bremerton as an Office Assistant Senior. President Younger announced that the next meeting will be the City Council Study Session on <br />Wednesday, July 11, 2018. <br />With no further business, President Younger adjourned the Council Special Meeting at 7:55 PM. <br />
