DIGITAL RECORDING COUNCIL <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES APR 1 5 2015 <br /> Wednesday, April 1, 2015 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, <br /> April 1, 2015, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT <br /> CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Greg Wheeler presiding. <br /> Council Members present were Eric Younger, Roy Runyon, Dino Davis, Jerry McDonald, and Mike <br /> Sullivan. Council Member Leslie Daugs was absent. Also present were City Attorney Roger <br /> Lubovich; City Clerk Shannon Corin; Council Assistant Christine Grenier; and Kevin Matthew, <br /> Information Services Manager. <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Mike Sullivan followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Pastor Roger Hennigan of Apostolic Life Tabernacle. <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT —Mayor Patty Lent... <br /> • Brought forward Vivian Henderson to read a Proclamation (on her behalf) proclaiming the <br /> Month of April 2015 as "Parkinson's Awareness Month"; <br /> • Thanked volunteers (including several Council Members) who served as judges at the <br /> Annual Washington State Science & Engineering Fair held last weekend; <br /> • Encouraged the community to take the "Mayor's Conservation Challenge" through April 30 at <br /> www.mvwaterr)ledge.com; <br /> • Announced Columbia Hospitality would be hosting the Annual Easter Brunch from 9:00 AM <br /> to 3:00 PM with Egg Hunt from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Gold Mountain Golf Course; <br /> • Confirmed that the Norm Dicks Government Center would participate in the county-wide <br /> "Drop-Cover-Hold" Earthquake Drill on Thursday, April 9 beginning at 9:15 AM; <br /> • Invited the community to the Open House for the N.A.D. Guardhouse Cabin on Saturday, <br /> April 11 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, which will feature an update on the cabin's restoration; <br /> • Urged volunteers to help at the Annual Sinclair Inlet Clean-Up on Saturday, April 18 between <br /> 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM at any beach location from Silverdale to Port Orchard; and <br /> • Was proud to learn that Bremerton and the Kitsap Peninsula were featured in Alaska Airlines <br /> Magazine "Alaska Beyond': <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Mike Walton, Executive Marketing Director for the Kitsap Family YMCA, hoped people would <br /> support their annual fundraising campaign so the organization can meet its $210,000 goal which <br /> would help continue water safety classes and membership support for foster children. <br /> Sunny Wheeler invited families to bring their small children to the Kiwanis Park Easter Egg Hunt & <br /> Parade on Saturday, April 4 from Noon to 2:00 PM; or the Easter Egg Hunts from 10:00 AM to Noon <br /> at the Manette Playfield next to the Bremerton Senior Center and at Forest Ridge Park. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 5A— Claims & Check Register: Check Numbers 362838 through 363009, and EFT-14747 through <br /> EFT-14793 in the amount of $1,532,743.51; Regular Payroll (Correction) for the pay period <br /> ending March 15, 2015 in the amount of $355.31; and Retiree Payroll for the pay period <br /> ending March 31, 2015 in the amount of $99,540.05 <br />
