DIGITAL RECORDING COUNCIL <br /> APPRn <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES JAN T 2015 <br /> Wednesday, January 7, 2015 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, <br /> January 7, 2015, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT <br /> CENTER, 345 6`h Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Greg Wheeler presiding. <br /> Council Members present were Eric Younger, Roy Runyon, Dino Davis, Jerry McDonald, Leslie Daugs, <br /> and Mike Sullivan. Also present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Shannon Corin; <br /> Legislative Assistant Lori Smith; and Kevin Matthew, Information Services Manager. <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Mike Sullivan followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Manor Marcia Baker of Salvation Army. <br /> COUNCIL OFFICER ELECTIONS <br /> President Wheeler opened nominations for Council President/Mayor Pro Tempore. <br /> Eric Younger nominated Greg Wheeler. <br /> With no further nominations, President Wheeler asked for a vote by roll call. <br /> Voted in Favor of Wheeler: Sullivan, Daugs, McDonald, Wheeler, Davis, and Younger <br /> Abstained: Runyon <br /> By a vote of 6-Yes and 1-Abstention, Greg Wheeler was elected Council President/Mayor Pro <br /> Tempore for the year 2015, and remained seated as the chair for the remainder of the meeting. <br /> President Wheeler then opened nominations for Council Vice-President. <br /> Dino Davis nominated Leslie Daugs. <br /> Eric Younger nominated Mike Sullivan. <br /> With no further nominations, President Wheeler asked for a vote by ballot. <br /> Voted in Favor of Daugs: Daugs and Davis <br /> Voted in Favor of Sullivan: Sullivan, McDonald, Wheeler, and Younger <br /> Abstained: Runyon <br /> By a vote of 4-Votes for Sullivan; 2-Votes for Daugs; and 1-Abstention, Mike Sullivan was elected <br /> Council Vice-President for the year 2015. <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT—Mayor Patty Lent... <br /> • Congratulated 2015 Council Chairs Greg Wheeler and Mike Sullivan; <br /> • Brought forward Charleen Burnette from BKAT to introduce new City Employee and BKAT <br /> Video Specialist Ben Blankenship; <br /> • Was excited to announce that the St. Patrick's Day Parade this year would again be routed <br /> through the tunnel; and was pleased to report there would be a festival just about every <br /> weekend in Bremerton from the month of May all the way through September; <br /> • Reminded citizens that they can recycle their Christmas trees until January 15 at both Public <br /> Works Facilities located at Oyster Bay and Olympus Drive; <br />
