DIGITAL RECORDING COUNCIL <br /> U <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> Thursday, January 2, 2014 JAN 15 1014 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Thursday, January <br /> 2, 2014, at 5 00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6 <br /> Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Greg Wheeler presiding Council Members <br /> present were Eric Younger, Roy Runyon, Dino Davis, Jerry McDonald, Leslie Daugs, and Mike Sullivan <br /> Also present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich, City Clerk Shannon Conn, and Legislative Assistant <br /> Lori Smith <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5 00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room At 5 30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Mike Sullivan followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Mayor Jim Baker of Salvation Army <br /> COUNCIL OFFICER ELECTIONS <br /> President Wheeler opened nominations for Council President/Mayor Pro Tempore <br /> Eric Younger nominated Greg Wheeler <br /> With no further nominations, President Wheeler asked for a motion <br /> 05:32:00 M /S /C (Davis /Daugs) Move to elect Greg Wheeler as 2014 Council President/Mayor Pro Tem <br /> Voted in Favor of Motion Sullivan, Daugs, McDonald, Davis, Younger, and Wheeler <br /> Abstained Runyon <br /> Motion carried 6 -Yes, 1- Abstention <br /> Greg Wheeler was elected Council President/Mayor Pro Tempore for the year 2014, and remained <br /> seated as the char for the remainder of the meeting <br /> President Wheeler then opened nominations for Council Vice - President <br /> Leslie Daugs nominated Eric Younger <br /> With no further nominations, President Wheeler asked for a motion <br /> 05:34:55 M /S /C (Daugs /McDonald) Move to elect Eric Younger as 2014 Council Vice President <br /> Voted in Favor of Motion Daugs, McDonald, Davis, Younger, Sullivan, and Wheeler <br /> Abstained Runyon <br /> Motion carried 6 -Yes, 1- Abstention <br /> Eric Younger was elected Council Vice - President for the year 2014 <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT — Mayor Patty Lent <br /> • Welcomed the seven Council Members, and congratulated 2014 Council Chairs Wheeler and <br /> Younger, <br /> • Was excited to welcome new resident developments "600 Apartments ", "Evergreen Pointe" and <br /> "Spyglass ", <br /> • Provided an update on the Pacific Avenue Construction project, <br /> • Presented a Mayor's Recognition Award to Dawne Knowles for her years of service at <br /> Cornerstone Coffee, and <br /> • Welcomed Boy Scout Troop No 1549 from Holy Trinity Catholic Church for their attendance <br /> tonight as they earned their merit badge in Communications <br />
