COUNCIL <br /> DIGITAL RECORDING ARM <br /> � <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES AN 9 1013 <br /> Wednesday, June 5, 2013 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order <br /> Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at 5 00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS <br /> GOVERNMENT CENTER 345 6` Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Greg <br /> Wheeler presiding Council Members present were Nick Wofford, Eric Younger, Carol Arends, <br /> Faye Flemister, Wendy Priest, Adam Brockus, Leslie Daugs, and Jim McDonald Also present <br /> were City Attorney Roger Lubovich, City Clerk Shannon Conn, and Council Assistant Christine <br /> Grenier <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5 00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room, Immediately following was the Council Meeting at 5 30 PM <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Jim McDonald followed by the <br /> Invocation provided by Pastor Oliver Warren of Eagles' Wings Fellowship Church <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT — Mayor Patty Lent <br /> • Presented Mayor's Appreciation Awards to Stephen Tabor and Steven Russell for saving <br /> an Individual's life using CPR and AED at the Kitsap Family YMCA recently, <br /> • Presented Mayor's Appreciation Awards to Michael Croston Daniel Josephsen Glenn <br /> Hagen Troy Olson Richard Periot and Matthew Stefnik for their Involvement In the Re- <br /> Power Kitsap Project, and announced that June 15 Is the final deadline to participate In the <br /> program, <br /> • Announced that comments regarding the City of Bremerton's water use will be accepted <br /> until next Monday, and comments are currently being sought regarding the Parks <br /> Department through an online survey, <br /> • Proclaimed June 19, 2013 as "Juneteenth Day ", and <br /> • Encouraged the community to attend games for the Kitsap Bluejackets, especially on Civic <br /> Club Night on Monday, June 24 <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Mike Walton Kitsap Family YMCA Marketing Director, highlighted upcoming events and <br /> programs at the "Y" <br /> Bob Dollar thanked the City for those who participated In the dialogue with citizens regarding <br /> the�reet Trees <br /> Robert Parker acknowledged that while the City can specify who has responsibility for trees, he <br /> hoped that the City will keep this Issue on the radar and with` plenty of communication <br /> Axel Kaylor raised concerns about early service hours from Waste Management In his <br /> neighborhood, and hoped they would honor an original agreement to not Impact people's sleep <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 5A — Claims & Check Register Check Numbers 353627 through 353913, and EFT -12849 <br /> through EFT -12904 In the amount of $2,172,914 54, Regular Payroll for the pay period <br /> ending May 15, 2013 In the amount of $708,207 87, and Retiree Payroll for the pay <br /> period ending May 31, 2013 In the amount of $55,881 95 <br /> 5B — Minutes of Meeting — May 15, 2013 <br />
