COUKIL <br /> DIGITAL RECORDING APPROVED <br /> JAN 1 6 201,E <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> Wednesday, January 2, 2013 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, <br /> January 2, 2013, at 5 00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT <br /> CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Jim McDonald presiding <br /> Council Members present were Nick Wofford, Eric Younger, Carol Arends, Faye Flemister, Greg <br /> Wheeler, Roy Runyon, Adam Brockus, and Leslie Daugs Also present were City Attorney Roger <br /> Lubovich, City Clerk Shannon Conn, and Legislative Assistant Lori Smith <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5 00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room At 5 30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Leslie Daugs followed by the Invocation <br /> provided by Pastor Roger Hennigan of Apostolic Life Tabernacle <br /> COUNCIL OFFICER ELECTIONS <br /> President McDonald opened nominations for Council PresidenVMayor Pro Tempore <br /> Faye Flemister nominated Greg Wheeler <br /> With no further nominations, President McDonald asked for a motion <br /> 05 50 M /S /C (Brockus/Daugs) Move to elect Greg Wheeler as 2013 Council President/Mayor Pro <br /> Tempore <br /> Voted in Favor of Motion McDonald, Daugs, Brockus, Wheeler, Flemister, Arends, Younger, Wofford <br /> Abstained Runyon <br /> Motion carried 8 -Yes, 1- Abstention <br /> Grea Wheeler was elected Council President/Mayor Pro Tempore for the year 2013, received the <br /> gavel, and was then seated as the chair for the remainder of the meeting <br /> President Wheeler then opened nominations for Council Vice- President <br /> Adam Brockus nominated Faye Flemister <br /> With no further nominations, President Wheeler asked for a motion <br /> 05 35.08 M /S /C (Arends /McDonald) Move to elect Faye Flemister as 2013 Council Vice President <br /> Voted In Favor of Motion Daugs, Brockus, Flemister, Arends, Younger, Wofford, McDonald, Wheeler <br /> Abstained Runyon <br /> Motion carried 8 -Yes, 1- Abstention <br /> Faye Flemister was elected Council Vice- President for the year 2013 <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Robert Parker Owner of the Printer People, reminded the Council Members to continue on their <br /> stated goal of improving City streets and school crosswalk safety <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT — Mayor Patty Lent <br /> • Announced that a meeting will be held with the residents and business owners affected by the <br /> construction on 4 th Street, <br />
