DIGITAL RECORDING <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />May 17, 2017 <br />The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, <br />May 17, 2017, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT <br />CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Eric Younger <br />presiding. Council Members present were Richard Huddy, Dino Davis, Greg Wheeler, Jerry, <br />McDonald, Leslie Daugs, and Pat Sullivan. Also present were Assistant City Attorney Kylie Purves; <br />City Clerk Shannon Corin; Council Assistant Christine Grenier; and Kevin Matthew, Information <br />Services Manager. <br />A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br />Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Pat Sullivan followed by the invocation <br />provided by Pastor Denis Huelle of Peace Lutheran Church. <br />MAYOR'S REPORT — There was no Mayor's Report... <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT BRIEFING <br />Police Captain James Burchett thanked Council Members who attended the Annual Law <br />Enforcement Memorial Service held earlier this afternoon at Miller Woodlawn; used a Power Point <br />presentation to highlight trends, statistics, and police activity for the Months of April through early <br />May; and invited the community to the first "Beep Baseball" game to be held in Bremerton with the <br />Seattle South Sound Sluggers challenging the Bremerton Police Department on Saturday, June 3 <br />beginning at 11:00 AM at Lions Park Ballfields. <br />PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br />Erik Hirt asked questions related to a class project he is working on as a student at Olympic <br />College; with a response provided by President Younger. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A — Claims & Check Register: Check Numbers 373446 through 373663, and EFT- 17291 <br />through EFT -17349 in the amount of $2,547,472.76; and Regular Payroll for the pay period <br />ending April 30, 2017 in the amount of $728,450.12 <br />B — Minutes of Meeting — May 3, 2017 <br />C — Minutes of Study Session — May 10, 2017 <br />D — Confirm Appointment of Dan Nelson to the Design Review Board <br />E — Amendment No. 1 to the Forestry Pre -Commercial -Thinning Contract No. 2016 with D & D <br />Forestry, LLC <br />F — Ordinance No. 5321 to amend Chapter 15 of the Bremerton Municipal Code (BMC) entitled <br />"Municipal Utilities" <br />Dan Nelson looked forward to being part of the Design Review Board, and shared a few of the <br />experiences that he will be drawing from.
