DIGITAL RECORDING <br /> CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br /> Monday, February 13, 2017 <br /> A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Monday, February <br /> 13, 2017, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER, <br /> 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Eric Younger presiding. Council <br /> Members present were Richard Huddy, Dino Davis, Greg Wheeler, Jerry McDonald, Leslie Daugs, <br /> and Pat Sullivan. Also present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Shannon Corin; <br /> Council Assistant Christine Grenier; and Kevin Matthew, Information Services Manager. <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Pat Sullivan followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Reverend David Stewart of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT— Mayor Patty Lent... <br /> • Proclaimed February 18, 2017 as "Arc Awareness"Day, which was accepted by Chris <br /> Tibbs, Executive Director for The Arc of Kitsap and Jefferson Counties; who introduced other <br /> members of the Board: Emily Meeks, President; Tracy Bushnell, Board Vice-President Tim <br /> Rogers, Treasurer; Cindy Ross, Secretary; and Gloria Moen, Board Member; <br /> • Wished everyone a Happy Valentine's Day; and reminded everyone that next Monday is the <br /> Presidents' Day holiday; <br /> • Mentioned that she will be attending the Association of Washington Cities (AWC)Action Days <br /> Conference in Olympia this week with several Council Members; and <br /> • Reported that the City has not only been very successful in locating housing for homeless <br /> veterans; but was proud to announce that a soft opening will be held in early March for the <br /> City's participation in the nationwide "America Serves" Program. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT BRIEFING <br /> Police Chief Steven Strachan used a Power Point presentation to highlight trends, statistics, <br /> and police activity for the Months of January through early February. <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Pam Crowe, Kitsap Regional Library Branch Manager, thanked the City Council for their support; <br /> and introduced Ruth Bond, Director of Public Services; and Anna Pastor, who earned 2nd Place <br /> in the Statewide VFW Voice of Democracy Contest. <br /> Nancy Doll thanked the City Council and Mayor for making this such a great place to live and call <br /> home; and personally thanked Council Member Daugs for responding to her so quickly. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 6A— Claims & Check Register: Regular Payroll for the pay period ending January 31, 2017 in <br /> the amount of$783,286.79 <br /> 6B— Minutes of Meeting — February 1, 2017 <br /> 6C — Minutes of Study Session — February 8, 2017 <br /> 6D— Confirm Re-Appointment of Harriette Bryant to the Bremerton Housing Authority Board of <br /> Commissioners <br />
