C.o.UniC1� <br /> DIGITAL RECORDING p��>� , ::p� <br /> ���`������°� <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES MAY � 8 Z�t6 <br /> Wednesday, May 4, 2016 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, <br /> May 4, 2016, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 Of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT <br /> CENTER, 345 6�`' Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council Vice President Dino Davis presiding. <br /> Council Members present were Richard Huddy, Greg Wheeler, Jerry McDonald, and Leslie <br /> Daugs. Council President Eric Younger and Council Member Pat Sullivan were absent. Also <br /> present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Shannon Corin; Legislative Assistant Lori <br /> Smith; and Kevin Matthew, Information Services Manager. <br /> A CouNc�� BR�EF�N� was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Leslie Dauqs followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Associate Pastor Russ Reuther of Sylvan Way Baptist Church. <br /> Vice President Dino Davis on beha/f of Mayor Lent, proclaimed the following: <br /> • Sunday, May 22, 2016 as the 8t`'Annual Armed Forces Washington Youth Academy <br /> Moforcycle Rally Day with David Ravmond accepting the proclamation; <br /> • The Monfh of May 2016 was proclaimed as Masonic Widows Day, with Brian Georqe <br /> and Junior Grand Warden RW James H. Kendall accepting the proclamation on behalf of <br /> Grand Master MW Donald G. Munks; <br /> • The Week of May 1 fhrough 7, 2016 was proclaimed as Drinking Water Week, with City <br /> Engineer Tom Knuckev accepting the proclamation on behalf of Water Resources <br /> Manager Kathleen Cahall. <br /> KEDA 1St QUARTER REPORT <br /> John Powers, KEDA Executive Director, summarized highlights from 1 st Quarter 2016. <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE <br /> Allison Satter, City of Bremerton Planner, provided an overview of proposed amendments to the <br /> Zoning Code. Vice President Davis announced the Public Hearing on the 2016 Comprehensive <br />� Plan would be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016. <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Marie Vila announced 2016 Season of the Bremerton Farmers Market begins tomorrow night from <br /> 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and every Thursday through October at Evergreen Rotary Park. <br /> James H. Kendall, on behalf of Grand Lodge Freemasons of Washington, thanked the City for the <br /> earlier proclamation, summarized their deep history, and indicated their willingness to increase <br /> their involvement in the community. <br /> Bernie Waldbillig, owner of Susanna's Antiques, expressed his concern that Charleston is the lost <br /> part of Bremerton, and not the "red light district" as was portrayed in a recent newspaper article. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 7A— Claims & Check Register: Check Numbers 368245 through 368430, and EFT-16005 <br /> through EFT-16050 in the amount of$1,912,253.70; Regular Payroll (Correction) for the <br /> pay period ending April 15, 2016 in the amount of$2,225.57; Regular Payroll for the pay <br /> period ending April 30, 2016 in the amount of$679,726.09; and Retiree Payroll for the pay <br /> period ending April 30, 2016 in the amount of$49,526.52 <br />
