DIGITAL RECORDING 1�����s��, <br /> �c'��'�:=r:.., <br /> a�� . <br /> e�a:��i�-� <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES �� a � ��� <br /> Wednesday, April 6, 2016 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order <br /> Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NoRM DicKs <br /> GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council Vice President Dino <br /> Davis presiding. Council Members present were Richard Huddy, Greg Wheeler, Jerry <br /> McDonald, Leslie Daugs, and Pat Sullivan. Council President Eric Younger was absent. Also <br /> present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Shannon Corin; Legislative Assistant Lori <br /> Smith; and Kevin Matthew, Information Services Manager. <br /> A CouNC�� BR�EF�NG was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM, which included <br /> a 20-minute Executive Session to discuss "Potential Litigation" under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) in <br /> the Council Conference Room with no action taken. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the <br /> Meeting Chambers. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Pat Sullivan followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Reverend David Stewart of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT—Mayor Patty Lent... <br /> • Janet Lunceford discussed the new Operation Neighborhood L.I.F.T Program; <br /> • Vivian Henderson read the Proclamation on behalf of Mayor Lent who proclaimed the <br /> Month of April as Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month; <br /> • Kathleen Cahall, Water Resources Manager announced that the Annua/Drinking Water <br /> Quality Report is available at www.BremertonWA.qov/drinkingwaterreport; <br /> • Encouraged the community to take the Mayor's Water Conservation Challenge on-line at <br /> www.mywaterpledqe.com by April 30; <br /> • Mentioned that today was National Walking Day; <br /> • Hoped people would participate in the Monthly Blood Drive on Tuesday, April 12 in the <br /> Meeting Chambers; <br /> • Announced the "Let's Go Science Show" on April 12 at 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM at the <br /> Admiral Theatre; <br /> • Proclaimed Wednesday, April 13, 2016 as Arbor Day, and invited the community to a <br /> Tree Planting Ceremony at Evergreen Rotary Park at 10:00 AM; <br /> . Presented Interim Parks & Recreation Director Jeff Elevado with an award in <br /> recognition of over 20-years planting trees in honor of Arbor Day; <br /> . Announced the Broad Humor Festival with several events planned during the Week of <br /> April 13 through 17; <br /> • Stated that tickets are still available for the Gilbert& Sullivan's H.M.S Pinafore to be <br /> performed by the Bremerton Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 PM at <br /> the Sylvan Way Baptist Church; <br /> • Announced the Sinclair Inlet Clean-Up on Saturday, April 23 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM <br /> along Navy Yard Highway, Evergreen Rotary Park, Lions Park, and Bachman Park; <br /> • Was excited that the Kitsap Pumas will be hosting the Seattle Sounders-2 on Saturday, <br /> April 23 with a 7:00 PM kick-off at Gordon Field at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, with <br /> an added Army-Navy match between Joint Base Lewis McChord and Naval Base Kitsap; <br /> • Encouraged people to give back to the community during Kitsap Great Give on May 3; <br />
