Council Member Mike Sullivan was absent. Also present were City Attorney <br /> Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Shannon Corin; Legislative Assistant Lori Smith; and Kevin <br /> Matthew, Information Services Manager. <br /> A CouNci� BRiEF�N� was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Leslie Dauas followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Pastor David Stewart of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT—Police Chief Steven Strachan... <br /> • Introduced Rena Brown, and congratulated her on her recent promotion to Police Records <br /> Supervisor; and <br /> • Provided a monthly update on Police Department operations and the new BPAC Volunteers. <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT—Mayor Patty Lent announced... <br /> • Bremerton was selected as the 15"' Hea/thiest City in Washington State; <br /> • BKAT is looking for volunteers interested in serving on the Public Broadcast Advisory <br /> Committee; <br /> • 2015 Summer Brewfest would be held on the Boardwalk this Saturday, July 18; <br /> • Eat Your Way Through Kitsap History will include lunch and a tour of the Victory Memorial <br /> Masonic Temple; <br /> • First Time Homebuyer Class will be on Saturday, July 25 from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the <br /> Kitsap Conference Center; <br /> • Friends of the Arc will be holding a huge multi-family yard sale also on Saturday, July 25 <br /> beginning at 9:00 AM at the Arc parking lot; <br /> • Easton Corbin will perform a concert on Sunday, August 2 at 2:30 PM at the Naval Base <br /> Kitsap Bremerton Parade Field; <br /> • Kitsap Chordsmen will perform on Saturday, August 8 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the <br /> Bremerton High School Performing Arts Center; <br /> • Kitsap Computing Seniors Program is accepting donations of computers, printers, and <br /> keyboards; and <br /> • Until Washington Avenue construction is completed, Public Works Director Chal Martin <br /> provided information about the project, alternative routes, and noted the completion of the <br /> project is expected late fall on approximately October 9. <br /> KEDA BRIEFING <br /> Kathv S. Cocus, Director of Business Development, Kitsap Economic Development Alliance <br /> (KEDA), provided the highlights of the International Paris Air Show held June 15 to 21; and <br /> provided a briefing on the 2"d Quarter"2015 Economic Development Report". <br />
