COUNCIL <br /> DIGITAL RECORDING own <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES FEB 9 101 <br /> Wednesday, February 4, 2015 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order Wednesday, <br /> February 4, 2015, at 5:00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT <br /> CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Greg Wheeler presiding. <br /> Council Members present were Eric Younger, Roy Runyon, Dino Davis, Jerry McDonald, Leslie <br /> Drugs, and Mike Sullivan. Also present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich; City Clerk Shannon <br /> Corin; Council Assistant Christine Grenier; and Kevin Matthew, Information Services Manager. <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was held to discuss General Council Business at 5:00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room. At 5:30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Mike Sullivan followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Bishop Larry Robertson of Emmanuel Apostolic Church. <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT —Mayor Patty Lent... <br /> • Plans to attend an assembly at Bremerton High School as part of Black History Month events; <br /> • Announced that 9 local honorees were recognized at the Annual Washington State African <br /> American Achievement Awards Program & Dinner held last Saturday; <br /> • Read a proclamation to Proclaim February 2015 as "Black History Month", which was <br /> accepted by Bishop Larry Robertson of Emmanuel Apostolic Church; <br /> • Invited Julie Graves of "Project Connect" to report on the Community Resource Fair held on <br /> January 28; and Terri Schroeder to report on the "Point in Time" Homeless Count; <br /> • Read a proclamation to Proclaim February 6, 2015 as "National Wear Red Day"in support <br /> of the American Heart Association and Women's Health; <br /> • Introduced the Bremerton Symphony Association's String Quartet who performed "Over the <br /> Rainbow" and "Happy Birthday' (in honor of Peggy Howland); and <br /> • Read a proclamation to Proclaim February 4, 2015 as "Peggy Howland Day"to <br /> acknowledge her lifetime advocacy for education programs in Bremerton, which was <br /> accepted by Peggy Howland; and wished Mrs. Howland a very Happy 95th Birthday! <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Caleb Finnegan and Ben Maxwell of Boy Scout Troop No. 1539 reported their attendance at the <br /> Council Meeting tonight would assist them in earning a Citizenship Badge. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 5A— Claims & Check Register: Check Numbers 361802 through 362072, and EFT-14513 through <br /> EFT-14567 in the amount of $1,041,473.47; and Retiree Payroll for the pay period ending <br /> January 31, 2015 in the amount of $60,466.21. <br /> 5B— Minutes of Meeting —January 21, 2015 <br /> 5C— Minutes of Study Session —January 28, 2015 <br /> 5D— Excess Liability, Excess Worker's Compensation; and Crime Insurance for 2015 <br /> 5E— Resolution No. 3241 to approve the City of Bremerton Investment Policy <br /> 5F— Third Addendum to the Admiral Theatre Operating Agreement <br /> There were no comments from the public... <br />
