COUNCL <br /> DIGITAL RECORDING PROM <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OCT 10 2011 <br /> October 5, 2011 <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City <br /> Council Conference Room 603, of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6 th Street, Bremerton, <br /> Washington, Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 5 00 PM, with Council President Will Maupin presiding <br /> Council Members present were Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson, Greg Wheeler, Roy Runyon, Adam <br /> Brockus, Cecil McConnell, and Jim McDonald Council Member Nick Wofford was absent Assistant <br /> City Attorney Mark Koontz, City Clerk Carol Etgen, and Legislative Assistant Lori Smith were present <br /> to provide staff support <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was then held to discuss General Council Business at 5 00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room At 5 30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Jim McDonald followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Council Member Carol Arends <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT — There was no Mayor's Report tonight <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Krista Woodring representing the Kitsap Family YMCA, discussed the Centennial Celebration held <br /> on September 17, stated that the pool will be open by next Monday, and announced several <br /> upcoming events scheduled later this month at the "Y" <br /> Dan Korstad expressed concerns about the lack of response from the Bremerton Police Department <br /> to his previous requests for help with illegal drug activity in his neighborhood President Maupin <br /> stated that his message was also received at the Council Office and an e-mail was sent to <br /> Community Resource Officer Andy Oakley to ask his assistance <br /> Dave Fergus thanked the City for all the support with the 9/11 Memorial event, and addressed the <br /> allegations that were recently reported in the local newspaper, which he said were false <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> A Check Numbers 345097 through 345322, and EFT -11236 through EFT -11276 in the amount of <br /> $1,605,157 40, a Regular Payroll Pay -Out for the pay period ending September 15, 2011 in the <br /> amount of $368 85, Regular Payroll for the pay period ending September 15, 2011 in the amount <br /> of $727,874 30, and Retiree Payroll for the pay period ending September 30, 2011 in the amount <br /> of $76,758 65 <br /> B Minutes of Meeting — September 21, 2011 <br /> C Minutes of Study Session — September 28, 2011 <br /> D Appointment of Job "JD" Moraido to the Arts Commission <br /> i E 2011 Renewal of Shelter Plus Care Grant Agency Service Agreement with Agape Unlimited <br /> F Goods & Services Agreement with Sullivan Heating & Cooling, Inc for HVAC Equipment Systems <br /> Services and Maintenance <br /> G Ordinance No 5163 to repeal Chapter 3 56 of the Bremerton Municipal Code (BMC) entitled <br /> "Fiscal and Cremation Agent" <br /> There were no comments from the public <br /> 05:41 M /S /C /U (Runyon / Arends) Move to approve the CONSENT AGENDA as presented <br /> Job "JD" Moraido thanked the Council for this opportunity to serve on the Arts Commission <br />
