DIGITAL RECORDING OCT 0 5 2011 <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES QXft <br /> September 21, 2011 AMDVM <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City Council <br /> Conference Room 603, of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6 th Street, Bremerton, <br /> Washington, Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at 5 00 PM, with Council President Will Maupin <br /> presiding Council Members present were Nick Wofford, Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson, Greg <br /> Wheeler, Roy Runyon, Adam Brockus, Cecil McConnell, and Jim McDonald City Attorney Roger <br /> Lubovich and Council Assistant Christine Grenier were present to provide staff support City Clerk Carol <br /> Etgen was absent <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was then held to discuss General Council Business at 5 00 PM in the Council <br /> Conference Room At 5 30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Jim McDonald followed by the invocation <br /> provided by Pastor Mark Adrian of Community of Christ at Memorial Lutheran Church <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT — Mayor Lent reported on the following <br /> • Reported on the Gorst Memorial Dedication held on September 12 th , <br /> • Thanked volunteers from Puget Sound Rental Owners Association (PROA), Benedict House, Fresh <br /> Start Transitioning, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, All- Shred, Good Will, Value Village, <br /> and Council Member Roy Runyon who helped out with the Beautify Bremerton event held last <br /> Saturday She also thanked Don Larson and Council Member Nick Wofford for helping with the <br /> Sinclair Inlet Clean -Up held on the same day, <br /> • Introduced Ken Marlin Manager of A -1 China Buffet who discussed the recent grand opening on <br /> Wheaton Way, which he hoped will help bring in local fobs to help the economy, <br /> • Thanked the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and its eight wards for assisting in <br /> several projects during the Beautify, Bremerton event and invited Mikel Anderson to discuss how <br /> the volunteers came together to make a positive impact, and <br /> • Proclaimed September 24, 2011 as "National Public Lands Day" <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Cheryl Stauff read a letter into the record to outline her concerns regarding the Kitsap Memorial 9/11 <br /> Committee and her reasons for resigning as Treasurer for the Committee <br /> Jack Stanfill expressed concerns about speeding along Northlake Way especially since there are areas <br /> where children are boarding or unloading from school busses <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> A Check Numbers 344876 through 345096, and EFT -11208 through EFT -11235 in the amount of <br /> $1,485,202 56, and Regular Payroll for the pay period ending September 15, 2011 in the amount of <br /> $734,89476 <br /> B Minutes of Meeting — September 7, 2011 <br /> C Minutes of Study Session — September 14, 2011 <br /> D Bremerton Kitsap Access Television (BKAT) Service Contract with Kitsap County <br /> E Contract Award to Valmont Industries, Inc for installation of 100 -foot self supporting radio tower at <br /> 100 Oyster Bay Avenue <br /> F Revision of Service and Easement with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for Warehouse Building at 100 <br /> Oyster Bay Avenue <br /> G Appointment of Samantha Heinrichs to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee <br /> 05 51 17 M /S /C /U (Arends/Wofford) Move to approve the CONSENT AGENDA as presented <br />
