DIGITAL RECORDING APR 0 6 2011 <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES cuu -,, <br /> Wednesday, March 16, 2011 ARM <br /> The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order <br /> Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 5 00 PM in Council Conference Room 603 of the NORM DICKS <br /> GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6 th Street, Bremerton, Washington, with Council President Will <br /> Maupin presiding Council Members present were Nick Wofford, Dianne Robinson, Greg <br /> Wheeler, Roy Runyon, Adam Brockus, Cecil McConnell, and Jim McDonald Council Member <br /> Carol Arends was absent Also present were City Attorney Roger Lubovich, City Clerk Carol <br /> Etgen, and Legislative Assistant Lori Smith <br /> A COUNCIL BRIEFING was then held to discuss General Council Business at 5 00 PM In the <br /> Council Conference Room At 5 30 PM the meeting moved to the Meeting Chambers <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Jim McDonald followed by the <br /> Invocation provided by Reverend Ron Anderson of Manette Community Church <br /> MAYOR'S REPORT — Mayor Lent <br /> • Presented a Mayor's Employee Appreciation Award to Parks & Recreation employee <br /> Scott Evans Mr. Evans thanked the Mayor, Wyn Birkenthal, and Jeff Elevado and all <br /> Parks Department staff He also discussed the very successful boy's basketball <br /> program In Its 69 year that provides an opportunity for boys who don't make their <br /> school teams, and Is so successful, he would like to add a fall league <br /> • Brought forward Lynn Frei Troop 1510 Scout Leader, who explained that he was here <br /> with the members of his troop so they could learn more about their city government In <br /> action, <br /> • Presented a City of Bremerton flag to a Russian delegation who were here on a visit, <br /> • Enjoyed attending the Annual St Patrick's Day Parade held downtown last Saturday, <br /> • Was pleased to attend the Washington CASH graduation ceremony, and <br /> • Discussed a letter written to Kure, Japan to ask If there was anything the City of <br /> Bremerton could do to help, and noted the State of Washington has been very generous <br /> In providing donations to Japan's relief efforts <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Mike Walton Marketing Director of the Family YMCA, listed the activities taking place at the <br /> "Y" for the month of April, and presented a brochure titled "Let's Make a Difference Together" <br /> about the 2011 YMCA Strong Kids Campaign If anyone Is Interested In making a donation <br /> they may go to the website at www ymcapks org /strongkids or call (253) 53 -7804 <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> A Check Numbers 342055 through 342314, and EFT -10695 through EFT -10738 In the <br /> amount of $2,809,817 94, and Regular Payroll for the pay period ending February 28, 2011 <br /> In the amount of $654,290 86 <br /> B Minutes of Meeting — March 2, 2011 <br /> C Minutes of Study Session — March 9, 2011 <br /> D Ordinance No 5143 to repeal Ordinance No 5050, Vacating a Portion of alley bounded by <br /> McKenzie & Cogean Avenues and 12 Street & Sheldon Boulevard <br /> E Ordinance No 5144 to repeal Ordinance No 5061, Vacating a Portion of Carr Boulevard <br /> and reserving certain easements <br /> F Ordinance No 5145 to amend Chapter 9A 44 of the Bremerton Municipal Code relating to <br /> "Public Urination" <br />
