AND PRO-VAC, INC. FOR <br /> THE GORST SEWER EMERGENCY REPAIR: City Engineer Tom Knuckey provided a Power <br /> Point presentation to assist in summarizing that on March 29, 2019 Mayor Wheeler issued an <br /> emergency proclamation to enable appropriate and timely response to the sanitary sewer force <br /> main break that occurred near the intersection of Anderson Hill Road. In accordance with <br /> procedures outlined in BMC 2.26.210 (Mayor's Proclamation of Emergency), the City entered into <br /> two contracts that would otherwise have required Council approval; a contract with Pro-Vac for <br /> sewage tanking services, and a contract with Pape & Sons Construction Inc., for the construction. <br /> All physical construction was completed as of April 11, 2019. <br /> 06:39:58 Motion was made by Sullivan and seconded by Daugs; Comments and questions were <br /> provided by Sullivan, Daugs, and Huddy; with responses provided by Mr. Knuckey... <br /> 06:42:05 M/S/C/U (Sullivan/Daugs) Move to confirm the contracts executed with Pape & Sons <br /> Construction, Inc. and Pro-Vac, Inc., with substantially the same terms and conditions as <br /> presented, to complete the Gorst sewer repairs in response to the March 29, 2019 Mayor's <br /> Proclamation of Emergency. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER REPORTS <br /> Richard Huddy addressed constituent interest in Neighborhood Block Watch programs; <br /> reminisced that the Mustang was introduced at the World Fair in New York 51 years ago today; <br /> and promoted the passing of House Bill 1638 regarding a vaccine for Measles, Mumps, and <br /> Rubella, and encouraged people to get immunized for their protection from preventable diseases. <br /> Michael Goodnow announced that volunteers were welcome at the next Forest Ridge Park Work <br /> Party on Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 AM to Noon. <br /> Lori Wheat thanked Council Member Huddy for discussing the Neighborhood Block Watch <br /> program; thanked Jennifer Chamberlain for providing the invocation; and announced 2 events on <br /> Saturday, April 20 including the Sinclair Inlet Clean-Up from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Bremerton <br /> and Port Orchard and the Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt from 1:00 to 2:30 PM; and the Annual Arbor <br /> Day & Earth Day Clean-Up at Kiwanis Park on Saturday, April 27 at 10:00 AM. <br /> Kevin Gorman announced that the Manette Neighborhood Coalition would be hosting the Annual <br /> Easter Egg Hunt and Manette Park Re-Opening Dedication on Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 to <br /> 11:00 AM at Manette Park; and the "May the 4ch Manette Hillclimb Clean-Up" on Saturday, May 4 <br /> from 9:00 AM to Noon. <br /> Leslie Dauqs announced Youth Build Kitsap Information Sessions on Fridays, April 19 and May <br /> 17 from 5:30 to 6:00 PM in the Olympic Education Service District Office; the Annual Stand Down <br /> for Veterans on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Sheridan Park Community <br /> Center; the 3rd Annual Earth Day Clean-Up on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at <br /> the corner of Olympus & Sanders Avenues; and the Bremerton School District Day of Service on <br /> Saturday, May 11 from 9:00 AM to Noon at Evergreen Rotary Park. <br />
