Cathv Johnson, Financial Services <br /> Director, explained that after the Public Works & Utilities Department reviewed their Capital <br /> Improvements, it was determined that the higher amount was necessary. <br /> 06:07:45 M/S/C/U (Huddy/Sullivan) Move to approve the CoNSErvT A�EN�A as presented. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> 7A— PUBLIC HEARING ON SURPLUS AND SALE OF 1720 WARREN AVENUE AND 91417T" <br /> STREET (FORMER CENCOM BUILDING) TO OLYMPIC COLLEGE: City Attorney Roaer <br /> Lubovich explained that on February 10, 2016, City Council approved the sale of property located <br /> at 1720 Warren Avenue and 914 17'h Street, commonly known as the former CenCom Building, to <br /> Olympic College; but per RCW 39.33.020 and BMC 2.78.060, a Public Hearing is required when the <br /> sale of real property is an inter-governmental transfer. <br /> President Youn_qer opened the public hearing... <br /> Terrv Fessner read a letter into the record to express his concerns with this transaction, <br /> summarizing that Olympic College should spend the costs to improve the building and not the City. <br /> With no further comments received, President Youn_qer closed the Public Hearing...He then <br /> announced that since the sale has already been approved by City Council, no further action was <br /> required. Therefore, Administration was authorized to proceed with the closing of the sale... <br /> GENERAL BUSINESS <br /> 8A— RESOLUTION NO. 3276 TO CHANGE THE NAME OF NORTH SUMMIT AVENUE TO <br /> "CAROL ARENDS PARKWAY": Jeff Elevado, Parks & Recreation Director, summarized that the <br /> City received a request to honor former Council Member Carol Arends at Forest Ridge Park. Staff <br /> presented the request to the Parks 8 Recreation Commission at their June 28, 2016 meeting as <br /> outlined in Bremerton Municipal Code 2.82. A motion was passed to retain Forest Ridge Park but to <br /> instead consider naming an element of the park or street within the park to recognize Mrs. Arends. <br /> Parks & Recreation staff then coordinated with Engineering, Kitsap County GIS, and Kitsap County <br />
