Minutes <br /> Wednesday, August 3, 2016 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> KEDA QUARTERLY REPORT <br /> John Powers, Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) Executive Director provided a <br /> 2"a Quarter Update; shared a video featuring "Aerospace"; and invited Council Members to <br /> attend the Kitsap Aerospace & Defense Alliance (KADA) 23�d Annual Meeting on Tuesday, <br /> August 23 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM in the Avian Center at the Bremerton National Airport. <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION (Below is only a summary of the full comments provided...) <br /> Mike Walton, Community Relations Coordinator with the Kitsap Family YMCA, briefed the <br /> community on the events and activities taking place at the Y this summer. <br /> Dean Tinqev, Executive Director for Kitsap County Historical Society, announced that a <br /> restored 1931 Chevrolet mail truck will be displayed at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds from <br /> August 24 to 28 (during the Fair). <br /> Robin Henderson with the Manette Neighborhood Coalition and Manette Business Association, <br /> announced several events taking place in Manette. <br /> John Hanson, President of the Bremerton Historic Ships Association, provided an update on <br /> marketing and programs. <br /> Bernie Waldbilliq of Susanna's Antiques, was proud to announce a One Year Anniversary sale <br /> would be held on August 12 & 13 offering 20% off all items in recognition of their business <br /> surviving its first year; and encouraged everyone to shop other businesses on Callow Avenue. <br /> Caroline Stein of the Washington State Science & Engineer Fair, discussed how funding <br /> received from the Lodging Tax distribution is used. <br /> Beckv Tatman with Kitsap Civil Survival, reiterated her request for Bremerton to take the lead <br /> in "Banning the Box" to provide an opportunity for those who have served time to at least <br /> receive the chance for a job interview. <br /> Rav Garrido of Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center, acknowledged the Bremerton Stake <br /> Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for donating 100 back packs with school supplies. <br /> James Knauer, Bremerton Symphony Fiscal Services Manager, thanked the City for their <br /> continued support with funding from the Lodging Tax. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 5A— Claims & Check Register: Check Numbers 369462 through 369633, and EFT-16308 <br /> through EFT-16352 in the amount of$1,384,193.74; Regular Payroll for the pay period <br /> ending July 15, 2016 in the amount of$751,047.08; Regular Payroll (Correction) for the <br /> pay period ending July 15, 2016 in the amount of$204.75; Retiree Payroll for the pay <br /> period ending July 31, 2016 in the amount of$52,230.88; Regular Payroll (BPOG Retro) <br /> for the pay period January 1 through May 15, 2016 in the amount of$30,592.22; Regular <br /> Payroll (BPMA Retro) for the pay period January 1 through May 15, 2016 in the amount <br /> of$3,739.08; and Regular Payroll (BPD Retro) for the pay period January 1 through May <br /> 15, 2016 in the amount of$2,404.31 <br /> 5B — Minutes of Meeting —July 20, 2016 <br /> 5C — Minutes of Special Meeting —July 27, 2016 <br /> 5D— Confirm Appointment of Elizabeth Wrenn to Position No. 2 of the Parks & Recreation <br /> Commission <br />
