Minutes <br /> Wednesday, January 7, 2015 <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br /> • Read a proclamation to Proclaim Monday, January 19, 2015 as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. <br /> Day, and announced two local events that will honor his legacy including "A Day On, Not A Day <br /> Of' on Wednesday, January 14 at Keyport Naval Undersea Museum; and the "21s,Annual <br /> Celebration' on Monday, January 19 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds President's Hall; <br /> • Encouraged the public to be involved in the process for the "Bremerton 2035' Comprehensive <br /> Plan Update "Reflecting on the Past, Planning for the Future" by attending the next Public <br /> Meeting on Tuesday, January 20 beginning with an Open House from 5:00 to 6:00 PM and <br /> followed by the Planning Commission Workshop; <br /> • Reported on her attendance earlier today at the 2015 Solutions Summit in Bellevue, sponsored <br /> by the Washington State Policy Center, where she learned from many State Legislatures and <br /> Senators in attendance that small businesses, education, transportation, the environment, and <br /> government reform will be the focused topics on their Legislative agendas this year. <br /> PUBLIC RECOGNITION <br /> Bob Dollar briefed the Council on the NAD Cabin Restoration Project, and invited Council Members to <br /> come and check out the progress anytime. Ms. Daugs asked for future regular updates and pictures. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA <br /> 6A— Claims & Check Register: Check Numbers 361604 through 361801, and EFT-14465 through <br /> EFT- 14512 in the amount of $1,644,307.99; Regular Payroll for the pay period ending <br /> December 15, 2014 in the amount of $716,325.86; Regular Payroll for the pay period ending <br /> December 31, 2014 in the amount of $739,350.73; and Retiree Payroll for the pay period <br /> ending December 31, 2014 in the amount of $55,485.42. <br /> 6113— Minutes of Meeting —December 17, 2014 <br /> There were no comments from the public... <br /> 05:49:25 M/S/C/U (Runyon/Sullivan) Move to approve the CONSENT AGENDA as presented. <br /> GENERAL BUSINESS— There were no General Business Items tonight... <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER REPORTS <br /> Leslie Daugs wished everyone a happy New Year, and looks forward to a great year in 2015. <br /> Jerry McDonald shared photos from yesterday's tour of the USS Nimitz in Everett, noting that Council <br /> Member Dino Davis and Police Chief Steve Strachan also attended. <br /> Dino Davis also enjoyed the tour of the USS Nimitz; and announced that the next Forest Ridge Park <br /> Clean-Up will be on Saturday, January 17 starting at 9:00 AM. He also looks forward to 2015, and <br /> encouraged citizens to e-mail him at the Council Office with any concerns they may have. <br /> Roy Runyon congratulated Public Works and the Administration for receiving a federal grant of almost <br /> $1-million to improve streets and sidewalks; looked forward to the upcoming Council Retreat; <br /> mentioned that several Council Members would be attending the AWC City Action Conference in <br /> Olympia on February 18 & 19; and announced the Horse & Cow Bar& Grill at 536 4'h Street would be <br /> hosting a fundraiser on Friday, January 16 from 5:00 to 10:00 PM for the son of a very good friend of <br /> the Hose & Cow who has a brain tumor. <br /> Eric Younger congratulated Council President Wheeler and Vice President Sullivan; and looked <br /> forward to moving Council's Goals ahead in 2015. <br />
